A Ukraine Support Day is underway today at Ballinlough National School, county Roscommon.
There are now 17 Ukranian students in Ballinlough National school, a rural school with 36 students in total.
Since the Russian invasion of the Ukraine earlier this year, many families have taken refuge in the region.
Efforts are underway locally to bring another lorry load of supplies to the war torn country.
Castlerea Bus company owner Aidan Geraghty is embarking on his third trip to Ukraine at the start of next month. He will bring supplies into Ukraine and will assist in bringing additional refugees to safety on his return.
