A Mayo TD is calling for apprenticeships need to receive better funding from the Government.

Sinn Fein Deputy Rose Conway-Walsh highlighted the issue following a survey completed by her parliamentary party.

 It unveiled that the cost of living is a major concern for apprentices while also finding that some apprentices were left 5 or 6 years to complete their course which should in theory only take 4 years.
