Six Mayo groups have been successful under the Sports Capital and Equipment Programme Appeals process. Previous unsuccessful applicants under the initial scheme were given the opportunity to appeal the Department’s decision including a final opportunity to submit corrected documentation to validate their application.
GAA, Boxing and Athletics Clubs are among those to have been granted funding for the development of their clubs.
Ballina Amateur Boxing Club have been given nearly 239 thousand euro for the construction of a new boxing arena while St Patricks GAA Club in Westport have been given just over 234 thousand euro for a new Mayo Camogie Regional Centre on the site.
East Mayo AC have been given near 120 thousand euro for the development of a new running track with lights and Ballyhaunis GAA Club has been allocated just over 64 thousand euro for the reconfiguration of handball alley.
And finally, Breaffy GAA Club have been granted just over 20 thousand for the development of their floodlight system with 70 thousand euro has been given for the upgrade of Bohola Moy Davitts GAA clubs existing floodlight system.
