Corrib Mask Search and Rescue was tasked by The Irish coast guard yesterday evening to attend a broken down boat on Lough Corrib.
A crew of 4 launched from Lisloughrey pier at 8.45 and once they reached Inchagoill Island and assessed the situation, the crew decided that the best course of action was to establish a towline and bring the vessel back to Oughterard pier.
The crew returned the boat and its passengers safely to the pier in Oughterard and then made their way back across the lake to base in what turned out to be a late night for the crew.
Corrib Mask Search and Rescue have reiterated to the public to call 999 or 112 if you find yourself in difficulty and ask for The Coast Guard who will then dispatch the necessary services to help you.
