The Irish Patients Association says next week's two day strike by medical scientists is a very serious crisis.

It says the action will likely lead to the double the 14,000 cancelled hospitals appointments from last weeks one-day action.

It's to happen on Tuesday and Wednesday, and centers on pay.

IPA chairperson Stephen McMahon's calling on Health Minister Stephen Donnelly to step in.
