The Community of Erris is one of more than 60 local communities across counties Mayo and Galway that have commissioned a Master Plan in an effort to become more energy efficient and reduce their carbon footprint.

The local community works with the Sustainable Energy Authority Ireland (SEAI) to develop and refine their plans for “Sustainable Energy Communities”.

The Erris Energy Master Plan, funded by SEAI was launched earlier this week and is based on a mixture of desktop research utilizing publicly available information from a range of sources. Then using modeling tools and methodologies was developed inhouse by Plan Energy Consulting, and captures the energy spend across the community under the headings - residential, commercial and transport.
