Mayo retail businesses can apply for funding to expand their online offering and presence to customers at home and abroad. That’s according to Mayo FG Deputy Micheal Ring.
A new round of the Covid-19 online retail scheme was announced today by Minster Damien English. The scheme, worth €9.3m, has been put in place to help Irish businesses upgrade their websites and improve their offering beyond the physical shop. Mayo businesses are among 500 businesses that have already secured funding under this scheme.
Deputy Ring says that many Irish companies have successfully made the digital transition in recent years and that the Government is keen to help businesses adapt to and embrace this change. The transition to online shopping was accelerated over the last two years due to the Covid-19 Pandemic.
The Scheme, which is administered by Enterprise Ireland opens for applications today, Thursday, 5 May, and closes on 1 June 2022.
