The Minister of State Pippa Hackett will be in her native county Mayo this morning for an official engagement.
Senator Hackett, the Minister of State at the Dept of Agriculture, Food and the Marine will officially open the Martin Neary Woodland, located outside Charlestown this morning at 11am.
The woodland is named after a local farmer who bequeathed his land in trust to Mayo County Council to create a woodland park for the people of the county.
The Western Forestry Co-Op planted the land, and the facilities include – walking paths, car park, signage and information boards, as well as a pond and picnic area.
