Patients presenting at the Emergency Departments of hospitals across the region today are experiencing long waiting times.
There are 44 patients on trolleys waiting for admission to Sligo University Hospital, according to the latest INMO Trolley watch figures.
That’s the third highest figure nationally.
There 38 patients waiting for beds at Galway University Hospital, 17 patients on trolleys at Mayo University Hospital and just one at Portiuncula University Hospital.
Nationally today there are 468 patients on trolleys waiting for hospital admissions, with the highest number again today at University Hospital Limerick where there are 111 patients waiting for beds.
