Three men have been arrested following the seizure of €8,600 worth of suspected cannabis herb, cocaine and cash in Castlerea yesterday.
Gardaí were conducting a checkpoint at 4pm yesterday evening when they stopped a car and carried out a search under the Misuse of Drugs Act.
During the course of this search a quantity of suspected cannabis herb and cocaine was located concealed in the vehicle.
During a follow up search at a house in Ballaghderreen a further quantity of controlled drugs and a quantity of cash were seized.
The total value of the drugs seized in both searches was €6,000.
While €2,600 in cash was also seized.
Three men were arrested and have since been released without charge pending a file to the Director of Public Prosecutions.
