A Mayo woman has been appointed Deputy President of the Veterinary Council of Ireland.
Rachel Brown takes charge as second in command with immediate effect, assisting new President Vivienne Duggan.
The two were appointed following an uncontested election by members of the Veterinary Council.
Rachel is a veterinary practitioner, working from Moy Veterinary Clinic, a mixed practice serving companion animal and farm animals in Ballina.
She says ‘it is truly a privilege to be serving in this new role and it was extremely gratifying to have been elected by my colleagues on the council.’
