The sudden easing of almost all the Covid restrictions at the weekend has caused "scheduling chaos" for the owners of large entertainment venues, and Pat Jennings of the TF Royal Theatre in Castlebar, describes it as “a welcome nightmare”.

He says he is now faced with the task of scheduling two years of shows into one year, but he says he’s delighted he’s open again and is delighted to take on the task.

He has also thanked the public for their cooperation and understanding over the past two years with shows booked, cancelled, re-scheduled and sometimes cancelled again.

Pat employed 65 staff at the TF Royal Hotel and Theatre pre-pandemic, and that reduced down to 12 during recent lockdowns, he is keen to see that number restored as business returns.
