The National Transport Authority has allocated funding of over €5 million to Mayo County Council to invest in walking and cycling infrastructure.

Mayo FG Deputy Michael Ring says 45 Active Travel projects in Mayo will receive funding, which will bring a renewed vibrancy to our regional towns and villages.

The funding will go towards cycle lanes, footpaths, pedestrian crossings and transport and mobility plans.

Deputy Ring says the investments are aimed at making walking and cycling in our towns and villages safer and sustainable.
