The death of has taken place of Sligo's Donal O'Shea, former Chairperson of the North West Radio Group, a previous sister station to Midwest radio.
Mr O’Shea was also a former CEO of the old North Western Health Board and held the position between 1972 and 1999, with his tenure coincided with the development of one of the most effective primary healthcare services at the time.
He is credited with integrating GPs, public health nurses and administrators to create a team approach to local healthcare provision.
In 1999, he was appointed as the CEO of the newly-established Eastern Regional Health Authority.
The North Sligo man will be reposing at his home at Rahaberna tomorrow from 3pm to 5pm.
His Mass will be celebrated on Sunday in St. Colmcille’s Church, Rathcormac at 2:30pm with burial afterwards in Rathcormac Cemetery and it will be live streamed via www.churchservices.tv/rathcormac.
