The Mayo Vintners Chairman, Alan Gielty is delighted that normality is on its way back, as NPHET yesterday approved the easing of almost all Covid-19 restrictions.
The government is expected to announce the timeline for the lifting of the restrictions later this evening.
The Taoiseach Micheál Martin looks set to address the nation around 6pm this evening on the detail.
Alan, who runs a pub and restaurant on Achill Island says after 22 months it’s the light at the end of a long tunnel, and he says the abolition of restrictions is very welcome.
The reality, he says however, is that the restrictions were due to be lifted at the end of the month, so today’s news is just a few days ahead of time.
