Over 400,000 booster vaccines held by Irish GPs will go out of date over the next few weeks if not administered, according to healthcare sources.

There are an estimated 244,000 doses of Pfizer and 160,000 of Moderna in stock with expiration dates in the next two weeks.

This is despite family doctors having injected 1 million boosters since December.
