Met Eireann is advising of sub-zero temperatures across the West tonight, with the cold spell to continue for the most of this week.

Following a cold and bright day, tonight will be dry and cold with widespread frost and some icy patches as temperatures fall to between zero and minus 3 degrees.

After a cold and dry day tomorrow, Thursday and Friday will continue cold and blustery with showers of rain, hail and sleet feeding in from the Atlantic turning to snow on high ground on Thursday night.
