A Mayo nurse who died following a tragic road traffic collision in Boston will be laid to rest in her native Ballintubber later today.

Ann O’Flaherty nee Moran of Westwood, Massachusetts, USA, and formerly of Ballintubber, died on Wednesday the 15th of December after being struck by a car outside St. Elizabeth’s Medical Centre in Brighton, where she worked.

Mrs O’Flaherty was struck by a silver Audi car near the intersection of Washington and Cambridge streets early in the morning while crossing the street.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Her Requiem Mass takes place at 12 noon in St. Patrick’s Church, Killawalla followed by burial in Ballintubber Abbey Cemetery.
