The man who died in a 2-vehicle collision in Co Galway on Tuesday was a well-known former hurler in Co Galway.
The crash occurred at Kiltartan, on the N18 between Ardrahan and Gort, shortly after 3.30pm Tuesday, as Storm Barra raged across the West.
The driver of one of the cars was pronounced dead at the scene, and his body was removed to UHG for post-mortem examination.
He's been named locally as PJ Mahoney, who was living in the area.
PJ was a former champion hurler, and was goalkeeper on the Ardrahan team that won a number of senior county championships in the 1970's.
His remains will be reposing at Monahan's Funeral Home, Labane, Ardrahan on Friday from 5pm to 7pm.
Funeral leaving his son Patrick's residence on Saturday morning arriving at St. Teresa's Church, Labane for Requiem Mass at 12 noon followed by burial afterwards in Labane cemetery.

His family has been plunged into grief for the second time in just over a month, as PJ's wife died recently following an illness.
