€750,000 in funding has been allocated to three projects in Galway East.
Portumna Blueway Wayfinding Sculpture Park has received just under a half a million euro to develop a multi-use shared 2.4k leisure route (Blueway) information, directional and safety signage, a sculpture trail and all other associated ancillary works.
Woodford Millennium Oak Forest has been awarded €200,000 for the regeneration of the Derrygill Millennium Oak Forest paths, trails and recreational area.
€50,000 has also been allocated for preparatory design and planning works at Long Point, Loughrea, Co. Galway.
Local Independent deputy Sean Canney says the allocations are a major boost for the three areas and will help rejuvenate great outdoor amenities.
He has commended the local people for their dedication and commitment to the projects.
