The Archdiocese of Tuam is saddened at the loss of two priests who are being laid to rest this weekend.
That’s according to the Archbishop of Tuam Dr Michael Neary, who has been paying tributes following the passing of Fr Patrick O’Brien and SMA priest Father Thomas Kearney.
Father Patrick O’Brien served in numerous parishes across the Tuam Archdiocese.
The Claremorris native served in various communities across the region including Clare Island, GMIT Castlebar and Kilmeena in Mayo and Caherlistrane, Tuam and Skehana in Galway.
Fr O’Brien will repose at St. Joseph’s Church in Caherlistrane, today from 3 o’clock until 6 o’clock, with the Funeral Mass in Caherlistrane tomorrow at 2 o’clock followed by burial afterwards with his parents at St. Colman’s Cemetery, Claremorris at 4 o'clock.
The Funeral mass will be live streamed on Church TV Caherlistrane Church.
Meanwhile, Fr. Thomas Kearney, Society of African Missions, was laid to rest in Co. Louth this morning.
He will be missed by parishioners in Nigeria, England, the Society of African Missions and the Archdiocese of Tuam.
