A Passport Office is urgently needed to service people across the West of Ireland.

That’s the view of Fine Gael TD Michael Ring, who has called for an office to be set up in County Mayo.

The Westport-based Deputy has again called on the Department of Foreign Affairs and Minister Simon Coveney to explore and review the possibility of opening a Passport Office in this region.

The former Minister says that people in the West in need of an emergency appointment must travel to the Passport Offices in Dublin or Cork, often under very stressful circumstances.
