Construction will start on a 130,000 euro Village enhancement Scheme in Cong in the New Year.
That’s according to Fianna Fail Councillor Damien Ryan, who says the rising of the waters project will be a footprint for the area.
The project was sent to An Bord Pleanala because it was close to a Special Area of Conservation and subsequently received approval.
The plan was then approved and a contractor is in place to carry out the work.
Cllr Damien Ryan told Midwest News that there will be a traffic management plan in place during the construction phase.
