Mayo's first-ever Climate Action Gathering will take place in Ballina this Friday and Saturday.

It will coincide with the end of COP26, and former President Mary Robinson will officially launch the event virtually, from the UN Climate Change conference taking place in Glasgow.

The Gathering includes events for young people, community groups, individuals and businesses, and is being co-ordinated by Mayo County Council, Ballina Green Town, Ballina Chamber and the Mary Robinson centre.

Laura Dixon is Mayo County Council's Climate Action Officer and has been giving more details of the 2-day event to Midwest News.....
