The Government needs to take real action in the face of rising electricity bills by reducing VAT to zero for the Winter months - that's according to Mayo TD Rose Conway-Walsh.
The Sinn Fein deputy says every household has seen their electricity bill rise substantially.
While she welcomes the expansion of the fuel allowance in the recent Budget, she says most households do not qualify for this, and many people will struggle financially to make it through the Winter.
The Mayo TD also wants the Govt to end their opposition to potential reform of electricity markets at an EU level.
