With close to 400 primary school children testing positive for Covid 19 every day, over the last number of weeks, it’s not acceptable for Minister Donnelly to state yesterday that he is “considering” re-introducing contact tracing and introducing antigen testing in schools by Christmas. There is an urgency in the matter, according to INTO Representative for Mayo/Sligo, Vincent Duffy.

Vincent is the Principal of Breaffy National School outside Ballina and he says the ongoing rise in Covid cases in schools requires immediate action.

With seven weeks left to Christmas holidays, Vincent told Midwest News Editor Teresa O’Malley that’s a long time….
