Ireland's 14-day incidence rate of Covid-19 has nearly doubled over the past month.

It has risen to 695 cases per 100,000 people on Monday last - compared to 378 in early October.

Castlebar is the only local electoral areas in Mayo to have a rate of infection above the national average at 754 per 100,000, representing 226 cases.

The next highest LEAs in the county are Ballina and Westport, with rates of 538 and 533 respectively, accounting for 135 cases in Ballina and 98 cases in the Westport area.

Swinford had a rate of 474 per 100,000 equating to 82 cases and Claremorris had a rate of 302 also equating to 82 cases.

The area with the lowest incidence rate in the country is Belmullet, at just 95 cases per 100,000 people.
