Harps Alive Lá na Cruite takes place this Saturday (October 16th) online and in person all over the world.
For the fifth year in a row, harpers everywhere are invited to join in celebrating Ireland’s 1000-year-old harping tradition.
This year Mayo Harper, Gráinne Hambly, is leading the Music Generation Mayo harp ensemble in a pop-up concert on the steps of the Courthouse in Castlebar on Saturday afternoon.
Grainne has been telling Midwest News Editor Teresa O’Malley more about Lá na Cruite
Harps will chime from dawn to dusk on Saturday in locations throughout Ireland and internationally including a recorded performance online with Grainne and local harpers from Ballintubber.
