The Tanaiste says some restrictions may remain next week as our so called Freedom Day approaches.

Most Covid 19 rules are to be relaxed on Friday the 22nd of October, while the vaccine cert for restaurants and pubs is set to be removed.

However, there are concerns over the rise in Covid-19 positivity rates, and the number of patients in hospital and in intensive care units.

The National Public Health Emergency Team will meet again next Monday to advise Government on how best to proceed.
