The family of a Mayo man, who body was recovered from a river in Georgia, say they're devastated at his loss.
A murder investigation is underway after the body of 28-year old Tom Kennedy from Lahardane was found in a river in Gori last Saturday.
Police in Georgia believe Mr Kennedy was socialising with several Georgian nationals before a row took place.
They're accused of beating him and throwing him in the river while he was unconscious.
Five men have been charged in relation to his death, and have been refused bail.
Tom Kennedy was a singer/ songwriter, and was often seen busking on streets in Castlebar, Galway, Cork and elsewhere, before travelling to Georgia at the end of August.
He's survived by his parents Eddie & Cathy Kennedy, his 6 brothers and extended family.
Efforts are now underway to repatriate his body to Ireland, and a GoFundMe page set up by his cousin to raise funds to bring him home has so far raised more than €35,000.
Tom's cousin Olivia Barrett from Claremorris told Midwest News that Tom was a gentle, kind person who loved to travel.....
