An IFA rally will take place in Roscommon town this Friday at 12.30.
This is one of four such rallies being held across the country on Friday, under the title "Save Irish Farming".
IFA President Tim Cullinane will attend all four rallies in Cavan, Roscommon, Portlaoise and Cork City, claiming that the Government "is pursuing policies that will decimate Ireland's largest indigenous sector".
However, MEP Luke Ming Flanagan says the IFA should call off Friday's rallies, as they coincide with the pyrite and mica demonstration taking place in Dublin.
The Roscommon-based MEP says this issue affects many farmer's houses and farm buildings also, and says the IFA should call off their protests, and let people focus their energy on the demonstration in Dublin on Friday.
