There's good news this morning for Ballina, as the contract has been signed for the Ballina Innovation Quarter, which will see the 18th century Military Barracks being transformed into a digital hub.

That's according to Ballina-based Councillor Mark Duffy, who says the news was confirmed by Mayo County Council yesterday at a special policy committee meeting.

Work will start in the next week or two, and will take about 18 months to complete.
