There has been an increase in the number of Covid-19 outbreaks in schools.
According to the latest data from the Health Protection Surveillance Centre, there were 90 outbreaks recorded in schools last week, resulting in 412 confirmed linked cases of the virus - that's compared to 40 outbreaks reported the previous week.
Of the 90 outbreaks last week, 78 were in primary schools, 11 in secondary schools, one in special education and there was also one outbreak in a university leading to 7 cases.
There were 13 outbreaks in the workplace last week, while four outbreaks occurred in nursing homes, four in acute hospitals, two in community hospitals and seven outbreaks in residential institutions.
Meanwhile, the number of patients with Covid-19 in hospitals is 272 - of which 63 patients are in intensive care.
The HSE CEO Paul Reid said 60% of Covid patients in ICU have not been fully vaccinated.
In this region, there are 12 Covid patients being treated at University Hospital Galway, 8 at Sligo University Hospital and 3 at Mayo University Hospital.
