There's overwhelming public support for the President's decision to turn down an invitation to attend a centenary event marking partition.
A poll by Ireland Thinks in today's Mail on Sunday shows more than four in five people think Michael D. Higgins made the right call.
He previously said the church event in Armagh next month had become too politicised.
The poll also highlighted a rise in support for Fianna Fail to 19 percent, and a slight drop for Sinn Fein and Fine Gael, who're on 29 and 23 percent respectively.
Mail on Sunday executive editor, John Lee, says people were asked whether the President should go to the church service -- and the answer was clear.
