The first part of a new documentary on the killing of Roscommon priest Fr Niall Molloy will be broadcast on RTE One television tonight at 9.35.
Fr Molloy was found dead in the bedroom of his friends' Richard and Teresa Flynn's house in Clara, Co Offaly in September 1985 - the night after a family wedding at the property.
This new 2-part documentary, called "The Killing of Fr Niall Molloy" looks at all aspects of his death, and the controversial court case in which Richard Flynn was later acquitted of the manslaughter of Fr Molloy, on the instructions of presiding judge Frank Roe to the jury.
Fr Niall Molloy was parish priest in Castlecoote at the time of his death, and a native of south Roscommon.
His family have campaigned for decades to uncover the truth of what happened that night 36 years ago , and two of the priest's nephews have collaborated with the makers of the documentary.
The second episode will be aired on RTE One next Monday night.
