Residents of McHale Road in Castlebar are up in arms over the long queues today for the Covid-19 test centre at McHale Park.
People arriving for a Covid test are advised to enter the test centre via McHale Road, and exit via An Sportlann.
However, demand for tests today is reportedly higher than usual.
This has led to difficulties for local residents in getting their cars in and out of McHale Road, while there's concern over possible delays in the event of an ambulance or fire engine being required in an emergency.
Philip Redmond, Chairman of the McHale Road Residents Association, told Midwest News that today's traffic is the worst so far, since the start of the pandemic....
Midwest News has contacted Castlebar Gardai in relation to the situation - Gardai say they have received no complaints in relation to the matter.
We have also contacted the HSE about the situation and are awaiting a response.
