The Government’s Housing for All plan has been commended for including proposals from the opposition.
Roscommon Galway TD Denis Naughten has welcomed the fact the new plan has incorporated his suggested measures to deal with vacant properties across the country.
The Independent TD says there is an immediate dividend to both the State and rural Ireland to see these houses brought back onto the supply chain.
Government is also bringing forward a new law later this year to ensure that older people who rent out their home when the go into long term nursing home care will not be penalised.
Deputy Naughten told Midwest News that he believes this plan will benefit rural Ireland.
