The Saolta Hospital Group is urging people to only visit admitted patients or attend the Emergency Dept of Galway University Hospital if absolutely necessary but patients should attend their outpatient appointments.
This hospital is at present dealing with a high number of Covid positive patients. There are 33 patients being treated for the virus in the hospital. That’s the highest in the country.
Saolta is advising, however, that patients should still attend UHG if they have an outpatient appointment.
Patients with appointments should still attend their appointments; if any are cancelled, patients will be notified directly.
Sligo University Hospital is today treating 18 Covid positive patients, Mayo University Hospital 13 patients and 6 Covid positive patients in Portiuncula University Hospital, Ballinasloe.
