A Roscommon deputy is demanding clarification from the Attorney General on when the "200 outdoor rule " was enacted.
Independent deputy Michael Fitzmaurice is accusing the government of making it up as they go along regarding Covid regulations. He says as a member of the Oireachtas, he was not aware that 200 people can attend an outdoor gathering at a hotel, and so is questioning when that regulation was introduced.
He will be seeking an answer from the Attorney General on the timing of the regulation, questioning if it has been introduced to meet the socializing needs of some government members and government officials in Dublin.
Basically, he accuses this government of usually “tripping over itself” leaking “good news”, yet no one told the hospitality industry and the general public this piece of relief from Covid restrictions
Deputy Fitzmaurice has been speaking to Midwest News Editor Teresa O’Malley this lunchtime...
