€350,000 has been allocated to Ballintubber Abbey.
The funding will allow for works on the reconstruction of the East Wing of the Abbey and build on the over 800 years of history this landmark heritage location.
Fine Gael Spokesperson on Tourism and Sport, has welcomed confirmation of the funding from the Heritage and Electoral Reform Minister, Malcolm Noonan, that he has allocated up to €350,000 to Ballintubber Abbey.
The funding was announced following a visit by Minister Noonan with Deputy Dillon to the Abbey yesterday.
