Gardaí and emergency services were called to the scene of a car on fire on a road near Lough Talt this afternoon.

Members of Ballymote Garda Station were alerted to the blaze at approximately 1:10pm and made their way to the location.

The vehicle had caught fire on the Tubbercurry to Ballina road near the Sligo lake.

A stop/go system was put in place at the location and it’s expected the car will be removed from the scene shortly.
