The Minister of State for Local Government & Planning Peter Burke will be visiting Co Mayo today for a number of engagements in Killala, Ballina, Swinford and Castlebar.

The Minister will start in Killala this morning at 10am, where he will officially open the Killala Wastewater treatment plant.

In Ballina, he will meet with communities seeking inclusion under the Multi-Annual Rural Water Programme, and will visit the site of a proposed 27-house development at Kilkelly Road in Swinford before travelling onto Castlebar.

Minister Burke will view urban regeneration projects in the county town, including the former Military Barracks,  and will meet with the Chief Executive and Cathaoirleach of Mayo County Council before visiting a Tuath social housing development at Chestnut Grove in the town.
