23 million euro has been given to support five airports nationally.
Ireland West Airport Knock, Dublin, Cork, Shannon, Donegal and Kerry are all benefitting, with the split being decided through passenger numbers in 2019.
Knock airport has received the second highest amount of a little over €1.9 million euro.
The money will go towards helping the facilities prepare for the return of international travel on Monday.
Minister of State at the Department of Transport Hildegarde Naughton says this funding will enable Ireland West Airport Knock to recover some of the losses that it has incurred as a result of covid 19.
