Irish universities are hoping to hold large-scale lectures this autumn.

The Irish Universites Association says all eight colleges are finalising their plans for the return of on-campus teaching in September.

It will tell an Oireachtas committee today big lectures could go-ahead, if the Covid-19 vaccination programme continues as planned.

Professor Pól Ó Dochartaigh, the deputy president of NUI Galway, hopes antigen testing will play a role.
