18 to 34 year olds will be able to get a Covid-19 vaccine in pharmacies from next Monday.
The Minister for Health Stephen Donnelly has confirmed that pharmacists can begin administering the one-shot Johnson & Johnson vaccine to this age group from the start of next week, while -in what the Minister termed a two-track approach - the vaccine portal will also open to 18-34 year old who wish to receive the AstraZeneca or Johnson & Johnson jabs in a vaccination centre from the following Monday ,12th July.
It's hoped administering the vaccines through pharmacies will speed up the rollout among younger people, amid fears of a fourth wave of Covid-19, due to the rapid spread of the Delta variant.
A list of participating pharmacies in each county is available on the HSE website.
