It now costs more to buy a property close to the sea.
A new report from the property website Daft.ie reveals the price of a home close to the coast has risen by an average of 23% since the Covid-19 pandemic began.
Homes in Kilmore Quay in Wexford and Dunmore East in Waterford have seen even bigger price hikes, while the Renvyle/ Letterfrack area of Co Galway and Lahinch in Co Clare saw price increases of 39%, compared to before the pandemic.
The coastal town of Louisburg in Co Mayo saw a 25% increase in house prices, with almost 22% in Enniscrone.
