Men are being urged to 'make connections' as Men's Health Week kicks off today.

The HSE is encouraging all men to support their health and wellbeing by contacting those they've been apart from by phone or if safe, in person.

A third of all men who die, lose their lives to cancer and 42 per cent of them are overweight.

One event to highlight for Men’s Health week is an information webinar on Men’s Health –The How of Men’s Health.

It takes place at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday and the special guest Mayo GAA legend David Brady.

Director of the National Centre for Men's Health in IT Carlow Dr Noel Richardson says men need to check up on themselves:
