Over 1,300 community pharmacists can start administering Covid-19 vaccines from today.
They'll start by giving the Johnson and Johnson shot to the over 50s, while the Pfizer jab will also be used later in the programme.
The vaccine portal is also expected to open for those aged 30 to 39 in the coming days.
Among those taking part are Curley's Totalhealth Pharmacy, Ballyhaunis, Dalys Pharmacy, Gort, Dunmore Pharmacy, Dunmore, Grogan's Pharmacy & Opticans, Ballina and the Healthwest Community Pharmacy, Ballindine.
Secretary General of the IPU, Tuam-based Darragh O'Loughlin told Midwest News there’s a number of pharmacies across Mayo and Galway signed up to the programme.
