Plans are still on track to apply for planning permission for the proposed IDA Ireland industrial park in Ballina in the third-quarter of this year.
That's according to Minister of State Robert Troy, who was responding to queries from Mayo TD Dara Calleary on the issue.
Deputy Calleary says it's been a 30-year campaign to develop an industrial park on the site on the Sligo Road in Ballina, and a previous grant of planning permission was allowed to lapse in recent years, which he says shows the lack of commitment to this project.
Along with a masterplan for the site, the Ballina-based TD is calling for an Advance Unit to be developed, to make the location more attractive for potential investors.
Deputy Calleary says he raised the issue again in the Dáil, to ensure plans are still on track for the IDA industrial park
