€187,000 in funding has been approved for Mayo sporting projects under Dormant Accounts Funding.
Mayo Fianna Fáil Senator Lisa Chambers has welcomed the investment package for a wide range of sport and physical activity measures in the county.
Just under €44,000 is allocated to Castlebar Urban Adventure Hub, while Ballinrobe Community Sports and Physical Activity Hub will receive almost €22,000, with funding also for the Mayo Sports Partnership.
The investment announced by Sport Ireland will be focusing on people with disabilities, people who are educationally disadvantaged and from disadvantaged communities.
Senator Chambers told Midwest News that this funding will help address the detrimental impact Covid-19 restrictions had on people’s physical activity.....
